Meet Alyssa.
Hello! Welcome to my little corner gallery. Whatever brought you here, I’m so happy to have you. I’m a painter residing in Atlanta, GA with my husband and three precious children. My studio is a cozy corner space in our home — with a big window, large easel and a little table, just enough for me to create. It’s very common that all three kiddos are playing at my feet (and/or running in circles!)
My work is heavily inspired by nature and the places I’ve seen around the world.
I love exploring the relationship between color, light and texture and the movement they create. I work with mixed media a lot, but I love working with watercolors the most. I feel free to create and play, and less pressure to be perfect.
“I don’t consider myself a photographer, but over the years I’ve fallen in love with the art. Every image you see was taken by me at some point in my life. I’m that person you see taking photos of tree bark or muddy wall stucco. ”
My Story
I grew up in a small town in central FL, surrounded by horse farms, lakes and moss. As a child, I remember always having a creative imagination. When I was around 9 years old I had a notebook full of sketches that I was so proud of. I carried it around everywhere. The sketches were mainly t-shirts and dresses in the same exact silhouette with many different flower designs on each - but I was determined they would make it on the runway one day!
That imaginative child who dreamed really big never went away.
As I grew older I loved making anything and everything - for anybody. In school, Art was something I was most passionate about. I gained a lot of confidence in those early years with my technique and creative practice (even though I had no idea what that was at the time).
Lake Weir, a few minutes outside of my hometown. I spent my teenage years on this lake and it’s also where we got married.

In 2009 I graduated with a BFA in Fashion Design & Marketing. I spent nearly a decade working in the industry as a menswear illustrator, trend reporter, technical designer and design/product development consultant until the beginning of 2020 when I started my painting practice.
I’ve had a passport since I was 6 months old and have always loved to travel. But It was after a whirlwind year of travel in 2019 that ignited my painting practice. I needed to reflect on what I had seen, the people I met, the food we ate. All of it. I realized the best way to do this was with my hands. Over the years, I’ve learned I express myself better through my work than with my words. So when I put brush to canvas or paper I try to remember this.
How do I want to capture this moment? What impression did this place leave on me? And how do I want to share that?
We each have a unique perspective of this beautiful earth. My hope is to share mine as long as I can - through color, and light, and texture.
