This painting was the first piece that inspired the Mended + Whole collection. It was made with high hopes, in a time of curiosity. I felt perfection and criticism creep in as the piece progressed, so it was ripped and discarded. I revisited it with new eyes one day and started turning it into something new. The process of creating this painting brought a lot of joy and healing. It’s a reminder that what was broken can be made whole again. That beauty is still present when we pick up our pieces and remind ourselves that all things can be made new.
